One Health investment planning and leverage in Kenya 29 August 2024 | 13:00 - 14:00 (CEST) Investing
in One Health is essential to address interconnected health challenges
across humans, animals, and ecosystems. To support such investments for
the benefit of affected populations and communities and promote
sustainability, strategic planning and leveraging resources are
essential.
Over
the past year, a seven-step process of One Health investment planning
and leverage financially supported by the Gates Foundation, led by FAO
and implemented with country and other partners has been pilot tested in
Kenya and Senegal. For Kenya, five investment cases were developed and
discussed at a country investment dialogue in Nairobi in June. Join the webinar to: - Learn about the approach and process used for One Health investment planning and leverage
- Get to know the investment cases co-designed by Kenyan stakeholders including the rationale, costs and expected benefits
- Discuss the light-touch economic analysis approach used in support of the investment cases
- Find
out how the findings were received by resource partners, what the next
steps are and how the work fits into the wider investment landscape
Speakers: - Katrin Taylor, One Health Strategic Partnerships and Investment Leverage Programme Officer, FAO
- Arithi Mutembei, One Health Specialist, FAO, Kenya
- Serge Nzietchueng, One Health Coordinator, FAO, Kenya
Moderator: Daniel Toro, Communities of Practice Specialist, FAO, HQ Short
presentations will be followed by a general discussion where
participants can bring their own experiences and perspectives. The webinar is hosted by the Community of Practice (CoP) on the Return on Investment of One Health
to inform One Health investment planning. The CoP was created by the
Quadripartite (FAO, UNEP, WHO and WOAH) in collaboration with CIRAD and
the World Bank. It is part of the One Health Knowledge Nexus that
brings together a wide network of people for engagement, knowledge
exchange, learning, and dissemination to support the further advancement
of One Health. |
